What is a "Bump-Up?"

In school we used the term "bump-up" a lot! In the video link above I talk about a bump-up and show you how to do one. But just in case you want a quick read about it, let me explain.

When using the term bump-up it means to add either a slight or dramatic change to a makeup look. In the video I was wearing a natural makeup look, so for my bump-up I decided to tweak my hair and makeup to 50's theme. (In honor of Grease: Live!)

Bump-ups can be done to either enhance or completely change the look without starting from scratch. It's a fun thing to do with makeup and saves a lot of time. So now when you hear me say bump-up in videos or blog posts you will know what I'm talking about! :)

Bulletproof Coffee / Detox Bath

My Uncle introduced my Mom and I to "Bulletproof" coffee, my cousin and his fiancé also drink it too. It's very simple, and looks like a latte too! There are so many good benefits to this coffee, it's mostly for the good fats (butter and coconut oil) plus it is super filling!

Bulletproof Coffee: 3 ingredients!

Ground Organic Coffee (can be decaf if desired)

2 tbsp Grassfed Butter (I use the Kerrygold brand)

2 tbsp Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (unrefined is better!)

Now you can add flavoring if you'd like, (cocoa powder, pumpkin spice, vanilla, cinnamon, etc.)

We use a french press to make our coffee, so when the coffee is done brewing pour desired amount into a high speed blender (we use a Ninja) next add the butter and coconut oil and any other things you would like to the coffee. For example I put collagen in mine to get some extra protein (plus its overall good for you).  Blend for at LEAST 30 seconds to make sure everything is melted and mixed well (would be kind of gross to get a glob of butter!) Stop blending and you will see a nice layer of foam at the top, pour and enjoy! :D

Detox Bath!

This is one of those things in life that once you do them and start seeing or feeling a difference you will NEVER stop! Plus baths are awesome. :)

25-30 minutes:

2 cups Baking Soda

2 cups Epsom Salt

***The more you sweat the better the results, so make that water as hot as you can stand it without feeling like you're going to pass out! Keep water with you too, you'll need it.

That's it people, two simple ingredients for unbelievable results! I do mine at night because not only is it a great way to end the day, but it makes you super tired. I sleep like a rock every time I do one of these baths. Enjoy!

Current Favorites!

Here are some of my favorite products, some are new and some I have been using for a year or so.

Pixi by Petra Glow Mist (new) I put this on after my makeup, it smells great and gives my skin a nice hydrated feeling. It can be used before and/or after makeup and any time after to refresh. So far I like it, don't love it but it is nice that it is filled with natural oils including Argan.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in 2.0. I have been using this foundation for about a year, I find myself going back to it even when I try other foundations. I absolutely love the fact that it is a Paraben free foundation, which I feel is rare to find a PF foundation that works so well.

Origins GinZing moisturizer & Origins Clear Improvement charcoal mask (new) My skin is more on the dry side and I wanted a moisturizer that will not be too heavy but still does the job, won't be too expensive, and isn't filled with chemicals. Origins products thankfully are formulated with 100% natural essential oils and natural/certified organic ingredients. Its also a comfort to know very little goes a long way so I won't have to run to the store to buy a new one any time soon. I have used the charcoal mask once and really liked how it took a short time for it to dry and i felt my skin tightening, taking it off my skin felt super soft!

inesscents 100% African Shea Butter (new) I am trying to stay away from chemically formulated products mostly with my skincare. I have been having a dry patch above my lip for a while and this shea butter really helped calm it down and heal, I do however use Aquaphor every now and then but I mostly use this. This is also great to put on my hands and feet at night, it makes them super soft even when I wake up in the morning.

Josie Maran Argan Infinity Cream (new) I used Argan Oil by JM awhile ago and really liked it but it got pricey fast. I saw this on my last trip into Sephora and fell in love. I used to coconut oil as my night cream, but it wasn't doing the trick. I use coconut oil now to take off my makeup which works wonders, highly recommended. I now use this Infinity cream at night and combined with the rest of my routine it seems to be working very well. I rarely break out, my complexion is becoming more even. There are so many ways to use this product that I still need to try and it was MUCH cheaper than the Argan Oil.
